Scotty McCreery and Gabi Dugal Tie the Knot

Congratulations to the newlyweds: Scotty McCreery and Gabi Dugal are officially husband and wife! The couple tied the knot on Saturday (June 16) in the mountains of North Carolina.

People reports that 200 people attended McCreery and Dugal's wedding. The ceremony was officiated by McCreery's childhood pastor, while McCreery's father served as his best man; the couple exchanged personalized vows.

Dugal's gown was designed by Morilee. For the festivities, they used a black, white and gold color scheme and simple decor: "greenery and white flowers, some lanterns and candle votives [for a] rustic feel," Dugal shares.

The couple shared their first dance to Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love." Prior to the ceremony itself, guests were invited to a Cajun-style shrimp boil on Thursday night (June 14) and a mountainside rehearsal dinner on Friday (June 15). The reception also featured Cajun fare and pies instead of cake.

McCreery popped the question to Dugal in September, while they were on a romantic hike in their home state of North Carolina; he presented her with a custom-designed ring. The two have known each other since kindergarten and began dating in high school.

Dugal, a University of North Carolina graduate, is a pediatric cardiac nurse at Duke University Hospital. McCreery was the Season 10 winner of American Idol in 2011 and signed a new record deal with Triple Tigers Records in 2017.
