Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild Are Songwriting BFFs
Little Big Town and Miranda Lambert toured together last summer, but their off time wasn't quite as productive as the group hoped. Don't worry — they've been busy since.
Singer Karen Fairchild tells Taste of Country that being on tour with Lambert inspired a number of song titles, which she and the "Tin Man" singer looked at after the final show in August.
"(I) ended up writing one of them," Fairchild shares. "And then Miranda and I have written a little bit on her back porch. She's got a magical back porch."
Previously Little Big Town told Taste of Country Nights they hoped they would be able to write with Lambert, their co-headliner on the tour. Life got in the way. "You start hanging out and you start drinking a little bit," Jimi Westbrook says.
"The writing kind of goes out the window right after about midnight," Phillip Sweet adds.
Lambert was also dating Evan Felker, lead singer of the tour's opening act Turnpike Troubadours.
Little Big Town talked to Taste of Country's Billy Dukes prior to their set at Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo. last Thursday (June 13). Their headlining set did not include any new music other than "The Daughters," a song Fairchild told ToC was really necessary one week earlier.
Lambert's next studio album is expected this fall. Little Big Town have not stated when their new album will be available.
