It goes by many names, but some more common are Yeti, Sasquatch, and Bigfoot. No other cryptid or mythical monster has stood out to Americans like Bigfoot, scientifically known as Gigantopithecus.

The stories of Bigfoot go way back beyond recorded history and have covered the world. As far as North America goes, specifically the Northwest, you can hear tales of tall, hairy, huge creatures roaming about usually scaring campers and startling hikers.

But, that's the Northwest. What about Texas? Could there really be a bigfoot walking around the Texas hill country? Believe it or not, Texas has had its share of Bigfoot sightings. In fact, there's the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO). They have a website that keeps track of all the Bigfoot sightings in Texas. It's arranged by county with some sightings in Texas being as recent as last year.
