Watch as Abilene Firefighters Work to Extinguish a Fire

Saturday afternoon, I was by the Mall of Abilene when I saw the plume of smoke. As I drove closer to it I discovered it was the Christian Services Center that was a blaze.

Watch the video above, as Abilene firefighters on ladder trucks high above the structure and those on the ground fight the blaze. The guys on the ladder trucks disappear in the thick clouds of smoke.

I was in awe of our firefighters at how carefully they worked to extinguish the flame and protect all the other structures around it.

The fire seasons in West Texas is here, it's a good idea for all of us to be a little more cautious to avoid accidental fires. As of Monday evening the fire's origin was still unknown.
