Thomas Rhett + Maren Morris’ ‘Craving You’ Video Is an Intense Summer Blockbuster
Fast-rising country superstars Thomas Rhett and Maren Morris enter the dangerous world of crime in the music video for their duet, "Craving You."
Bad guys, fight scenes and even some comic relief all encompass the video, which dropped at midnight ET on Thursday (May 4). Rhett and Morris find themselves taking on the alter-egos of bada-- criminals in a production that's more like an action movie than it is a music video. The country artists act as partners in crime in the fiery video that finds them in a series of intense situations, from a gun-wielding Morris robbing a bank to Rhett beating the absolute crap out of multiple men.
And no classic action movie would be complete without a cool car and weaponry to match, and you'll find plenty in the "Craving You" music video. True to Rhett's form, wife Lauren (and her baby bump) also make an appearance as his love interest, in between shots of him interrogating some intimidating dudes while the "My Church" hitmaker single-handedly takes down her enemies. But with an M. Night Shamalyan-like twist, the ending sees that Rhett is actually a double agent, working as a cop in disguise. He grins, donning his badge as Morris walks away in handcuffs.
"There are a lot of crazy action scenes — a lot of firsts for me in general in this video,” Rhett explains in a promotional release, adding that both he and Morris hadn't acted much prior to shooting it. "I've always wanted to get to do a fight sequence and play a tough guy, but I think Maren definitely shows me up!"
"Craving You" serves as the first single from Rhett's upcoming 2017 album. The singer is currently on his Home Team Tour, which will keep him and openers Kelsea Ballerini, Ryan Hurd and Russell Dickerson on the road through most of the year.
