Stores You Wish Would Return to the Mall of Abilene

We all go to shopping at the mall and there are some great stores now but we had some great ones back in the day too. Here's a list of a few of our (mine and my co-workers) favorite mall stores that we miss and wish would return.

Growing up in the early '70s we has Westgate Mall located on South 1st, where the current, but now closed, K-Mart sits. Then in 1979 we had this big new, shiny Mall of Abilene come to town.

When the mall first opened I remember all kinds of great stores being there. Some I found old commercials for others are just mere memories. I realize Montgomery Ward was only in the Westgate Mall but I had to include it! Some other stores I couldn't find commercials for include: Orange Julius, Circus World and KB Toys, Jerry's Perfect Pets, Bob's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Bars, Grissom's/Dunlap's, Gadzooks and Stride Rite Shoes.
