‘SNL’ Season 39 Taps Lady Gaga to Return, Possibly Host?
Forget all about that crap rumor of Lindsay Lohan hosting the 'SNL' season 39 premiere, much more credible intel points to an even crazier female figure: Lady Gaga! Unsurprising given her showy VMA performance and upcoming album release, the queen of weird will return to the 'SNL' stage in season 39 to perform, but is there any chance the star will take up hosting duties as well?
According to TVLine, Gaga will make her third 'SNL' appearance on an unscheduled episode this coming fall, having previously guested musically and otherwise in both 2011 and 2009. Like Lindsay Lohan before her, NBC has declined to comment on any season 39 hosts, touting the lineup as "still being finalized," but we'd take TVLine's word much more seriously than the previous rumor.
It would certainly make sense for Gaga to pull double duty hosting and performing in anticipation of the November 11 "ARTPOP," as well, or even her cinematic acting debut in 'Machete Kills.' Not to mention, we'd credit the singer-shock artist with hosting over Justin Bieber any day.
Whoever ends up hosting the September 28 opener or beyond, equal attention will likely be paid to reported cast additions Mike O’Brien, John Milhiser, actress Noël Wells, and “Good Neighbor” performers Kyle Mooney and Beck Bennett, all of whom step in to replace past season departures Bill Hader, Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis. Seth Meyers will leave ‘SNL’ behind in 2014 as well, with Hader likely to return as Stefon for his exit.
Well, what say you? Would Gaga make a good choice for 'SNL' host, or should Mother Monster keep to the microphone? Sample Gaga's 'SNL' past below, and give us your hosting picks in the comments!
