Rebel Fest 2026 Was Hot as Hell, but Abilene Showed Up Big
Man, what a day in the Texas hot sun!
The 5th Annual Robert Ybarra Rebel Fest is officially in the books, and once again, we had an absolute blast at Potosi Live. Great music, incredible food, cold drinks, friends everywhere, and temperatures somewhere between "damn, it's hot" and "the sun is actively trying to murder us."
Thankfully, Potosi Live's huge outdoor awning kept us out of the direct Texas sun and made the heat surprisingly manageable.

Rebel Fest BBQ and Adult Snow Cones? Hell Yes
One of my favorite parts was hanging out with some of the grill masters competing in the Rebel Fest cook-off, including Chris Hefferman from Twisters Texas Grill and Angel from Pop Smoke.
And they fed me. A lot.
Ribs, chicken, brisket, beans, you name it. Chris, thanks for the samples, brother. That dude can flat-out throw down on some brisket. And, Angel...what the hell did you put in those beans?! Seriously, man. Incredible.
Then there were the adult snow cones made with Chinola. Cold, refreshing, and packing a nice little ABV kick. Pro tip from your ol' buddy Chaz: get the guava. Trust me.
Rebel Fest Is About More Than a Great Party
The entertainment was on point all day, George Hightower killed it on the mic, and I got to see so many friends throughout the afternoon.

Huge thanks to the entire Potosi Live crew, including Moi, Don-O, Stephanie, Kris, Josh, the servers, food vendors, cooks, musicians, and everybody behind the scenes.
Most importantly, thanks to everyone who showed up and supported Rebel Fest. This event continues Robert Ybarra's legacy, with proceeds helping give young people opportunities through scholarships.
