Dave Tries His Hand at Drawing Pictures Using Pancake Batter

Nathan Shields is a guy who does amazing, artistic things with pancake batter. That's right, pancake batter. After watching one of his instructional videos on YouTube, I decided to take a crack at it!

Shields' creations are pretty complex, detailed and way above my talent level. So I decided to make try something simple: a cartoon bumblebee, with the thought that even if my pancake art doesn't turn out so well, at least it will be a delicious pancake! So I heated my skillet, mixed my "just add water" pancake batter and here's what happened:

Not to toot my own horn, but I think pancake drawings are going to be a favorite in my family for a long time! They make breakfast fun, and pancakes are easy on the budget, too. I'd recommend this for anyone who has kids, or even if you just love pancakes!
