Barack Obama became the most high-profile member of Foursquare when he joined the location-based social network on Monday.

For now, Obama’s Foursquare followers will be treated to the details of the President’s economic bus tour across the Midwest. He won’t be using the app to check in anywhere specific, however, for obvious security concerns.

Foursquare users accrue points every time they check into a location, and the user with the most points is declared ‘mayor’ of that spot. Since the check-in function is disabled on Obama’s account, the Commander in Chief of the nation won’t ever be able to become the mayor of the White House, a position currently held by Foursquare member Ana M, with 41 check-ins.
