McMurry University's Theatre Department is ready to start performing again. As they open the year of 2021 with Frederick Knott's classic 'Wait Until Dark.' This play was first on Broadway in 1966 starring Lee Remick as Susy and Robert Duvall as Roat. The play was so successful the movie was released in 1967 starring Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin in the award winning movie (as you'll see in the video trailer above.)

Now The McMurry Theater Department is proud to present 'Wait Until Dark' in the Ryan Little Theatre on the McMurry campus. The play will run from Thursday March 4, 2021 through Sunday, March 7, 2021.

In the play a sinister conman, Roat, and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match once and for all. They have traced the location of a mysterious doll, which they are much interested in, to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy.

The con man and his ex-con buddies, convince Susy that police implicated Sam in the murder of a woman, and that the doll, which she believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence. She refuses to reveal its location, and with the help of a neighbor, figures out she is the victim of a bizarre charade.

A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues. This is presented with a special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service. To find out how it all ends, get your tickets early.
