Matt Damon Says ‘You Had to Write Donald Trump a Part’ to Film in His Buildings
There may be a deeper reason Donald Trump has had so many movie and TV cameos.
According to Matt Damon, one of the requirements for a filmmaker to shoot at a Trump-owned building was to give the businessman (and now president) a role in the film being shot.
"The deal was that if you wanted to shoot in one of his buildings, you had to write him in a part," Damon told The Hollywood Reporter.
However, not all Trump cameos made it into their respective films, as it turns out.
"Martin Brest had to write something in Scent of a Woman—and the whole crew was in on it," the actor continued. "You have to waste an hour of your day with a bulls--- shot: Donald Trump walks in and Al Pacino’s like, 'Hello, Mr. Trump!'—you had to call him by name—and then he exits."
"You waste a little time so that you can get the permit, and then you can cut the scene out. But I guess in Home Alone 2 they left it in," Damon added.
Along with the iconic '90s comedy film, Trump also appeared in movies and television shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sex and the City, 54, Zoolander and The Little Rascals.
