Bigfoot Fever Hits Texas After Wild New Highway Sighting
Big news in the bigfoot community! Whether you know it to be a Bigfoot, Sasquatch, The Horizon City Monster, or Yeti - they all reference the same mythical creature that roams forests and mountainous areas usually around the Pacific Northwest and Canada, all the way to Southeast Asia.
But now, Texas is having a major moment.
A Trucker Spots Something Strange on the Road
Texas folklore is thriving again thanks to one East Texas trucker who swears he locked eyes with the big guy himself while cruising down the highway. On November 18, Athens truck driver Wayne Yarian was passing Garden Valley- about 80 miles east of Dallas- when he noticed something unusual walking across a field just off the road.

Not a stray cow. Not a deer. Not even one of those feral hogs built like linebackers.
He told the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization he saw a tall, dark, brown-colored creature, 6 to 7 feet tall with arms hanging all the way down to its knees, just casually strolling toward a wooded area. And despite the highway noise, the creature didn’t flinch. It just walked with purpose like it had somewhere important to be.
Yarian didn’t stop his truck, but after replaying the moment in his mind, he became convinced he witnessed Texas’ latest Bigfoot cameo.
East Texas Is Apparently Bigfoot Country
If this shocks you, East Texans are shrugging like, “Yeah, sounds about right.”
After the sighting, Yarian’s wife did a little digging and quickly learned the area is considered a major Bigfoot hotspot, with over 2,000 reported sightings. The terrain checks out. Dense forests, twisty roads, giant stretches of private land; it’s like Airbnb for cryptids.

In just the past year, the BFRO has logged sightings in Camp County, Liberty County, and around the Sam Houston National Forest, a place Bigfoot fans treat like their own Six Flags.
Investigators Call This a Credible Sighting
BFRO tried to investigate the newest report but hit a very Texas obstacle: private property. The land where the creature was spotted spans 900 acres, surrounded by another 2,800 acres of adjoining properties- basically a perfect place for something giant and hairy to stay hidden.
Still, researchers say Yarian’s sighting feels legit. They’ve officially labeled it a Class A sighting, meaning the observation was close and clear enough to rule out common wildlife or optical illusions. In other words: this one made the experts raise an eyebrow.
Whether you’re a believer or just here for the chaos, one thing’s for sure: the Lone Star State has once again entered the Bigfoot chat, and this sighting might be the wildest one yet.
