Rainfall and Thunderstorms Expected for Lubbock Through Weekend
Are you tired of the rain yet? Good, because Lubbock and the South Plains are going to get some more through the weekend and even into the start of next week.
Friday Outlook
To finish out today, the National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting scattered thunderstorms across West Texas beginning at 5 p.m. and lasting through the night.
The good news is that tornadoes are not expected tonight. The bad news? Quarter to golf-ball size hail is a possibility, along with wind gusts up to 70 miles an hour.
Highs in the 90s are expected in Lubbock and across the South Plains this afternoon and evening as well. These temps will continue until Sunday when cooler weather will blow through.
Weekend Weather Forecast
Saturday is your perfect excuse to sleep in, as morning showers are expected to linger across most of West Texas and into the Panhandle. NWS warns that the main threats include hail, strong wind gusts, and local heavy rainfall.
The weather outlook for the next four days has one thing in common: a chance of storms... Yippee!

A strong cold front moving through Sunday will keep temperatures low, going from a high of 95 on Saturday to a high of 80 on both Sunday and Monday. Sunday night is expected to dip to about 55 degrees.
Don't forget to always keep an eye on the weather, either by following your local meteorologist or by visiting the National Weather Service forecast for your city.
