Just over a month away from Halloween and the big debate every year, what candy should you buy? Apparently this is what Texans are wanting the most of.

I don't even know why I bother buying candy every year for Halloween. Seems like trick or treating is dead and everyone does trunk or treats. I end up just buying whatever I like because I end up eating it anyway. However, if you want to go with what kids actually want this year. According to APT2B, this is the winners for every every state.

Most Popular Halloween Candies for Every State in 2025

Texas actually has the second most popular Halloween candy in America with Sour Patch Kids. This candy dominates the Northeast with five other states. Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island all enjoy the sour first, sweet second candy. Sour Patch Kids only lost to M&M's (assuming peanut since that's what they used for the photo) as the most popular candy this year.

How Did They Determine the Most Popular Halloween Candy?

They analyzed Google Trends data of 40 popular candy bars for just the month of October from the past five years. They compared the search interest for each candy head-to-head to find the most popular ones in every state.They then ran a survey of 1,000 American parents with children between the ages of 5 and 13 to learn more about the state of trick-or-treating today. The survey ran over one week in August 2025.
