I Interviewed Jerry Seinfeld Before His Abilene Show And Here’s What He Was Really Like
I've interviewed a lot of people over the years. Rock stars. Actors. Athletes. All kinds of personalities. But I'll admit it...I was nervous for this one.
Jerry Seinfeld has been one of my favorite comedians for as long as I can remember. I've watched Seinfeld more times than I could ever count, so when I found out I had the chance to spend about 10 minutes talking with him before his stop at Abilene Auditorium, I definitely felt the pressure not to completely fanboy.
The crazy part? I didn't need to worry. Jerry couldn't have been cooler.

My 10 Minutes of Fame With Jerry Seinfeld
From the moment he picked up the phone, he was friendly, funny, incredibly humble, and just easy to talk to. It honestly felt less like interviewing one of the biggest comedians of all time and more like sitting down with a guy you'd love to grab a cup of coffee with and talk about life for a couple of hours.
Unfortunately, promoters have to juggle a ton of interviews when someone like Jerry is on tour, so my time was limited to about 10 minutes. It absolutely flew by. I could've talked with him for another hour without even thinking about it.
A Mostly Raw Conversation
I wanted you to hear this interview the way it happened.
Other than a few minor edits for timing and audio, this conversation is pretty much raw. I even left in the very beginning when Jerry and I first connected on the phone before we officially started the interview. I thought it was a cool little moment that gives you a glimpse of what he's like before the "real" interview begins.
Sometimes those unscripted moments are the best ones. I had an absolute blast talking with one of my comedy heroes, and I hope you have just as much fun listening to it.
Jerry Seinfeld Is Coming to Abilene
Jerry Seinfeld brings his stand-up tour to the Abilene Auditorium this Friday, giving Big Country fans a chance to see one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time live on stage.
If you've never seen Jerry perform live, expect an evening packed with the kind of everyday observations that somehow make you laugh at things you've never even thought about before. That's been his trademark for decades, and he's still one of the best in the business.
If you're headed to the show, you're in for a great night.
