I don't know about you, but when I think about summer in Texas, I think about road trips, lake days, backyard barbecues, and having a good dog riding shotgun with their head hanging out the window.

Unfortunately, not every dog gets to enjoy that kind of life.

This week, several dogs at All Kind Animal Initiative's shelter, The PARC, have landed on the Urgent Dogs List. That means they need help finding adopters, fosters, or rescue placement as soon as possible.

Why These Dogs Need Us Right Now

Every dog in this gallery has a story. Some were found as strays. Some were surrendered through no fault of their own. All of them are hoping someone will give them a second chance.

And honestly, that's the hardest part for me. These dogs don't know why they're in a kennel. They don't know why people keep walking past them. They just know they're waiting.

Waiting for a family. Waiting for a couch. Waiting for someone to throw a tennis ball. Waiting for someone to tell them they're finally going home.

Adoption And Fostering Can Save Lives

If you've been thinking about adding a dog to your family, this might be the perfect time. Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy, a road-trip companion, or just a tail-wagging welcome committee every time you walk through the front door, one of these pups could be exactly what you're looking for.

Not ready to adopt? Fostering can be just as important and can literally save a life.

Take a look through this week's gallery of urgent dogs at All Kind Animal Initiative. Share it with friends and family. You never know whose future best friend might be waiting in the next photo.
