We love our animals here in Texas, but some owners refuse to take responsibility for their own pet's bowels. So much in fact that this small city in the Lone Star State is begging for people to "pick up their dog sh*t".

Not Everyone Is Picking Up Their Dog Sh*t

The City of Abilene recently made and posted a video on its Facebook page promoting a cleaner environment when it comes to our dogs. The video which you can see below starts off with a friendly greeting from a lovely Abilene resident.

But then the sixty-second video gets straight to the point.

"I don't mean to sound too forward, but I've noticed something. Not everyone is picking up their dog sh*t".

The Video

The clever and hilarious video makes the argument that if we are not picking up our dog's feces, it could end up in our storm drains and water supply. Yuk!

Of course, as folks who live in Abilene know, our drainage system is not the best so how far could the pet waste actually travel? I digress.

Why Do People Not Pick Up After Their Pets?

As someone who lives in a neighborhood where most have pets, I am always frustrated to find that someone let their furry friend drop a surprise in my yard. Usually, I don't find it until I'm mowing. But why do people do this?

As funny and entertaining as the video is, it is a stark reminder that we are responsible for our pets in every way. And as citizens who want a clean environment, we must help make sure our streets and drainage system stays sh*t free.
