It's no secret I love pets. Dogs especially capture my heart, Thus the reason I volunteer at Rescue the Animals, the Humane Society, and the All Kind Abilene Animal Shelter. I recently learned that Texas had six cities ranked in the top 25 in the United States for having the most beautiful big dogs. Don't get me wrong, I think the little ankle-biters are cute too, but I'm a big dog kind of guy.

Yes, Texas is indeed home to the most adorable large-breed dogs in the United States, from Golden Retrievers to German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Bullmastiffs, Great Danes, and all kinds of huge cow dogs. You know the ones I'm talking about. You pull up to a restaurant or a department store, and they're in the back of the truck looking like the king of the county. Someone's working cow dog protecting the sacks of feed in the bed of that truck.

MixbookPhoto.org just unveiled the "Cutest Canines Across the Globe" assembled by a panel of experts who meticulously evaluate dog photos on Instagram from cities across the world, revealing the "Best in Show" pooches. If anyone's asking, my favorite breeds on the planet are #1) Golden Retriever, #2) Briard, and #3) Burmese Mountain Dog.

As for the Mixbook Photo results, the "Small Dog Sweethearts" category goes to Houston at #8 with the cutest small dogs. These little furballs prove that adorability knows no limit. However, big love is found in DFW when it comes to the big dogs. Dallas and Fort Worth take the Best of Show title hands down. These gentle giants have secured their spot as the cutest in the nation and they all reside in Texas.
