West Texas Rehab’s Sporting Clays Classic Returns to Abilene
One of the most exciting spring fundraising events in the Big Country is coming back to Abilene, and it’s all for a great cause.

The 24th Annual Sporting Clays Classic, benefiting the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, will take place Friday and Saturday, April 10th and 11th, 2026, at Abilene Clay Sports.
Each year, this popular event draws hundreds of participants from across Texas who come together for two days of competition, camaraderie, and community support.
A Big Event Supporting West Texas Families
More than 300 shooters are expected to participate again this year, making it one of the largest sporting clays events in the Abilene area.
Whether you’re an experienced shooter or someone who simply enjoys trying something new, the event welcomes participants of all skill levels. Every shot fired helps support the life-changing services provided by the West Texas Rehab Center, which assists children and adults across the region with therapy and rehabilitation care.
Competition, Prizes, and Community Fun
The event includes several competitions recognizing top shooters, including High Overall, Men’s High Overall, Ladies High Overall, and Junior High Overall for participants ages 18 and under.
In addition to the shooting competition, the event also features a silent auction now open online, giving supporters the chance to bid on items even before the weekend begins.
Saturday evening’s celebration will continue with dinner and festivities at Potosi Live, where participants can relax, enjoy great food, and celebrate the success of the fundraiser.
Sign Up and Support the Rehab
The "Top Gun Sporting Clays Classic" is proudly sponsored by Capital Farm Credit and Accurate Air Solutions, and all proceeds benefit the ongoing programs and patient care at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center.
If you’d like to participate or learn more about the event, you can register online now at WestTexasRehab.org.
A Cause Close to My Heart
Personally, this event means a lot to me. I’ve been proud to support the West Texas Rehabilitation Center since 1978, helping with their annual telethon, auction, and summer dinner show. For the last 24 years, I’ve also been involved with the Top Gun Sporting Clays Classic. Watching our West Texas community come together year after year to support the Rehab is something special, and it’s one of the reasons this event continues to grow.
This annual event continues to bring the West Texas community together while supporting a mission that has helped thousands of families across the region.
