Blue Bell Premieres Red, White & Blue Bell In Abilene

Sometimes radio comes with some pretty sweet perks.

Earlier this week, Farron Bell from the Blue Bell Creameries headquarters in Brenham and regional distributor Jerry Don Black stopped by our studios with a special delivery: two half-gallons of the returning Red, White & Blue Bell Ice Cream.

The visit was part of Blue Bell's celebration of America's upcoming 250th birthday, and our listeners got to hear about the flavor's return during my radio show before many people even knew it was coming back.

Blue Bell Brings The Celebration To Abilene

Blue Bell officially announced the return of Red, White & Blue Bell Ice Cream on June 4. The patriotic flavor features Blue Bell Strawberry Ice Cream loaded with real strawberries, creamy vanilla-flavored ice cream, and blueberry-flavored ice cream packed with real blueberries, all side-by-side in one carton.

The flavor first appeared in 2014 but hasn't been available since 2017.

Yes, I Broke My Diet!

Many of our listeners know I've been on a weight-loss journey and have lost more than 120 pounds. I'll be honest here. When Farron and Jerry Don brought the ice cream into the studio, my diet took a brief vacation.

I enjoyed about three and a half scoops of Red, White & Blue Bell, and I have zero regrets. The combination of strawberries, vanilla, and blueberries is every bit as good as it sounds. It's creamy, refreshing, and looks just as patriotic as the carton itself.

Sharing The Sweetness Around The Office

One of the best parts of the visit wasn't just getting to sample the ice cream on the air. Right after Farron and Jerry Don arrived with the Red, White & Blue Bell, we grabbed spoons, cups, and went from office to office sharing scoops with coworkers throughout the building. Before long, just about everyone was talking about the returning flavor and picking out their favorite combination of strawberry, vanilla, and blueberry.

As you'll see in the photo gallery below, there were plenty of smiles around the station as Team Abilene got an early taste of Blue Bell's patriotic summertime treat.

According to Blue Bell, Red, White & Blue Bell is available in half-gallon cartons for a limited time only.

With summer cookouts, pool parties, and Fourth of July celebrations right around the corner, this may be one of the tastiest ways to celebrate America's 250th birthday.

And yes, if you're wondering, I would absolutely break my diet for it again.
