The 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum of West Texas Hosting Haunted House
The 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum is opening up its doors in October to host its annual Haunted House tour inside the museum. Come to think of it, the museum is a perfect place to have a haunted house. With all that old war gear and equipment, it can get a little creepy.
For over 80 years it's been thought that weapons of war may have a haunted history behind them. At the end of every war, there are the leftover tanks, ships, aircraft, watchtowers, buildings - things warriors have left behind on the battlefield.
Understanding that these weapons fell to the ground at the end of someone's life is haunting enough. Guns are not just wood and steel; they are the repositories of those lost spirits who touched them and were clinging to them during their last moments.
So keep that in mind when you step into the 12th Armored Division Memorial in Abilene. When I drive by that museum and see all the vehicles of war, I begin to wonder if there are any restless spirits living within them.
If that's something that strikes your interest, then you're going to love the haunted house tour at the museum located at 1289 N 2nd Street near downtown Abilene. The haunted house tours will be on October 20-21 and October 27-28 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
Tickets are $15 for adults. The scare portion of the tour will be done on two levels on the second floor and the basement, while the games and activities will be on the main floor. Put on your best running shoes and prepare to be scared half to death.
