Granger Smith has released the music video for his single "Happens Like That." Readers can press play above to watch the sentimental piece.

Created with the help of award-winning director TK McKamy, the "Happens Like That" video features Smith's real-life wife Amber and their son River. Set in a corn field in the middle of a storm, the clip finds the country star singing his way through the phases of his life they each flash by with the lightning.

“This has been the most extensive music video I’ve done, and we’ve done a lot of them,” Smith says in a press release. “We shot the video in a massive cornfield and a silo, and it gives the video this mysterious tone. TK had a vision that the imagery would be kind of like a memory and these lightning strikes make time pass through these stages of life and love.

"It was amazing to have my beautiful wife Amber and my son River on set," he adds. "My three kids have now all made cameos in my videos.”

Smith calls "Happens Like That" a "story-driven tune," and it is exactly that as its music video captures the mystery and romance of life's unexpected twists and turns.

"Happens Like That" is the first single off Smith's as-yet-untitled album, due out this fall. For more information and tour dates, visit Smith's website.
