Dolly Parton brought a bit of levity to the 2017 SAG Awards on Sunday night (Jan. 29). During a ceremony that included a number of speeches condemning President Donald Trump's recently signed immigration- and refugee-related executive order, the country icon offered jokes a'plenty during her time onstage to honor good friend and former 9 to 5 co-star Lily Tomlin.

Welcomed to the stage with a standing ovation, Parton joked, "I'm not gettin' an award!" With a laugh, she added, "Greetings from Dollywood, Hollywood!" before firing off a number of jokes about her ... uh, most famous assets.

"[Fellow 9 to 5 co-star] Jane [Fonda] and Lily are not my only two famous girlfriends, right?" Parton said, later noting, "Lily is receiving an award I've spent my whole life trying to avoid: SAG?!"

An acclaimed actress, Tomlin received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 SAG Awards. As Parton explained in her speech, "We all know what a great actor [Tomlin] is, but the Life[time] Achievement Award recognizes both career achievement and humanitarian accomplishments ...

"Lily's always been an activist," Parton continued, "and she continues to take a stand ..."

Country Artists Who Have Acted in TV Shows and Movies

Fonda, who currently stars with Tomlin in the Netflix original series Grace and Frankie, was supposed to attend the 2017 SAG Awards and be onstage with Parton, but unfortunately, she needed to stay home due to an illness (according to Bustle, Tomlin told red carpet reporters that Fonda had strep throat).

"She must be really sick," Parton said onstage, "because we've been talking to each other for weeks about gettin' to do this so we could all get back together."

The film 9 to 5 became a big hit following its release in 1980: It grossed over $3.9 million on its opening weekend in the U.S., and, as country fans know, the movie’s title song, penned by Parton, became one of the biggest hits of her career; Parton won two Grammys (Best Country Song and Best Country Vocal Performance, Female), received two Golden Globes nominations and went to Broadway because of the film. During her SAG Awards speech, Parton got a round of applause when she suggested the idea of a 9 to 5 reunion -- but Tomlin tells WUSA-TV that she and Fonda are currently focused on getting Parton to appear on Grace and Frankie instead.

"She has so much stuff this year that I don't know if she's going to be able to do it," Tomlin says of Parton. "Jane and I both want her on the show. [We would be] very, very excited to have her on the show."
