Dalton Domino Cancels Numerous Upcoming Concerts, Citing Personal Issues
Citing personal issues, singer-songwriter Dalton Domino has cancelled his appearance at Mile 0 Fest in Key West, Fla., along with several upcoming other performances. The artist promises that he'll be back out on the road soon, however.
Domino initially cancelled three scheduled shows in Texas before releasing a statement on Wednesday evening (Jan. 23) to explain the situation. "Things came crashing down on Jan. 12," he shares, and he's spent the time since getting help and treatment.
"I live a life that most people dream of. But unfortunately, the fulfillment that I once had chasing my dreams hasn’t been there for a while. Things became dark. I became calloused, angry, selfish, depressed, hollow," Domino writes. "I needed to get help. I needed treatment. I needed to talk to someone. So I did. And I still am."
As of Jan. 23, Domino says, he is 11 days "clean ... healthy ... with a new mindset and ... a new perspective." He adds that he is "proud of where I am right now and life ... for the first time in a long time."
However, Domino adds, "I need a few more weeks to fix myself before I get back out on the road ... I apologize for doing this. But right now I need to take care of me."
According to Domino's statement, his next scheduled concert is set for Feb. 23 in Dallas, Texas. His website lists tour dates in Chattanooga, Tenn.; Atlanta, Ga.; Raleigh, N.C.; and elsewhere that are being canceled.
Domino is a musician based out of Lubbock, Texas, known for his blend of Southern rock and Texas country. His most recent release is 2017's Corners, his sophomore album. In 2018, The Boot named Domino to the year's Artists to Watch list.
