Two Chinese Girls Poisoned to Death by Principal of Rival Kindergarten School
It seems almost impossible to believe, but the rivalry between two kindergarten schools in China led the principal of one school to kill a 5-year-old and a 6-year-old who attended the other school. With rat poison.
The two schools in Pingshan County of north China's Hebei Province compete for students in the village of Lianghe. The rivalry took a deadly turn when the principal of one school injected poison into yogurt then had another man place the tainted food near some notebooks that were on the way to the school. The principal has apparently confessed to doing so.
Two young girls saw the yogurt, picked it up and ate it. Later that day, when their grandmother had picked them up from school, the girls started convulsing and foaming at the mouth. One of the girls died on the way to the hospital; the other survived a bit longer, but succumbed on Wednesday.
The investigation continues. Both the principal and the man who placed the yogurt are under arrest.
