Kiwanis of Abilene Host their 63rd Annual Pancake Day Saturday
The Kiwanis Club of Abilene is hosting their 63rd Annual Pancake Day and Auction this Saturday April 28th, 2012. The event will be at the Abilene Civic Center with two separate feeding times, for breakfast and lunch from 8am till 2pm and for supper from 4pm till 7pm with their silent auction closing at 7pm As well.

Big 5 Sporting Goods Store is Closing in Abilene and San Angelo
I couldn’t believe it either, my favorite sporting goods store in Abilene is closing it’s doors for good on May 14th, 2012. Store manager Ralph Zamarippa says “we’ve known for some time that Abilene was one of the stores that’s been on the list of stores closing in the Big 5 chain, but we couldn’t say anything”. Abilene High Band Boosters Partner With Ford to Raise Money
I drove by Abilene High School Saturday afternoon and saw what looked like a couple hundred people standing around a dozen new cars in the main parking lot while the bands percussion section was playing Caribbean music. I stopped and asked, I learned that Ford Motor Company, Arrow Ford and the bands booster club had teamed up together to raise money through Fords ‘Drive One 4UR School’ event.
