Ashley McBryde visited the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to do what she does best: tell a story. The edgy country singer performed her seductive track "American Scandal" on Tuesday night (July 24).

McBryde invited a large audience to not only hear her voice, but also realize what makes the Arkansas native so special. Donning a black T-shirt and an arm’s worth of tattoos, she tore into the love song, which gives a shoutout to some controversial history:

"Hold me baby, hold me like you ain’t mine to hold / Oh kiss me baby kiss me, like you don’t care who knows / Oh love me baby love me like Kennedy and Monroe," McBryde sings.

The performance serves as a precursor to her Girl Going Nowhere Tour, which starts on Sept. 5 in Atlanta. The tour will also feature a stop at Nashville's iconic Basement East venue, which sold out in the first two days after going on sale.

"The stories I hear when meeting fans on the road — how a lyric helped someone not feel alone or get through one of their worst days — fuel me in a way I never imagined," McBryde explains. "Thank you for showing up, I'll keep playing as long as you do."

The "Girl Going Nowhere" rising star will tour the states throughout the month of Sept. before heading overseas for shows alongside fellow country standout Luke Combs. McBryde will then return to the states to continue on with shows across the country before the tour's culmination in New York on Dec. 15.
