Cody Jinks, Nikki Lane, Whitey Morgan and more are among the nominees for the 2018 Ameripolitan Music Awards. The fifth-annual awards ceremony celebrates artists in 16 categories (along with special awards), including Honky-Tonk Male (Charley Crokett, Luke Bell, Tilford Sellers and Casey James Prestwood are among that category's nominees this year) and Outlaw Female (the category in which Lane is nominated). The awards will be held on Feb. 13, 2018, in Memphis, Tenn.; a complete list of nominees is available on the Ameripolitan Music Awards' website.

Alan Jackson, Tom T. Hall and Bill Anderson are among more than a dozen artists nominated for a spot in the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018. According to the Associated Press, songwriters who have been "writing hit songs for at least 20 years" are eligible for induction into the Hall. Only six artists will be inducted next year, at a gala in New York on June 24, 2018.

On Feb. 3 -- the night before the 2018 Super Bowl is played in Minneapolis, Minn. -- Florida Georgia Line will headline the Club Nomadic pre-party. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the duo will perform at the "makeshift pop-up venue," located on the grounds of the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn., that is currently under construction. Tickets to the show start at $200 and will go on sale via Ticketmaster on Nov. 10.

Darius Rucker will show off his Christmas spirit during multiple Disney-focused holiday specials this season. The artist is set to perform "Winter Wonderland" during ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration, which will be broadcast on Nov. 30 at 9PM ET. Rucker will also sing "Home for the Holidays" during the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration, which will air on Christmas Day (Dec. 25).

Billy Mize, an influential artist in the "Bakersfield sound" movement, has died at the age of 88. According to MusicRow, Mize passed away in a nursing home in Pleasanton, Calif. on Nov. 1. A relative of country up-and-comer Logan Mize, Billy Mize was a legendary steel guitarist who recorded with Merle Haggard and other country icons; he also penned multiple hit songs and hosted country music television shows in the 1960s.
