There are trucks that look good sitting in a driveway, and then there are trucks built to actually do truck stuff. This month on 92.5 The Ranch, we're teaming up with Arrow Ford to spotlight the 2026 Ford Ranger XL, a midsize pickup that keeps things simple, capable, and ready to work in Texas.

Plenty of Muscle Without Driving a Tank

Under the hood, the Ranger XL packs Ford's 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. And don't let "midsize" fool you.

When properly equipped, the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds and offers plenty of payload capability for tools, gear, weekend toys, or whatever else you're throwing in the bed. Basically, it'll work all week and still be ready to get dirty when the weekend rolls around.

A Truck That Still Feels Like a Truck

One thing I dig about the Ranger XL is that Ford hasn't tried to turn it into some fancy rolling living room. You still get the good stuff, including SYNC 4A, a 10-inch center touchscreen, USB-A and USB-C connections, but underneath all that is a fully boxed high-strength steel frame with a super smooth ride.

Want to get farther off the pavement? Available 4x4 capability and the FX4 Off-Road Package can make the Ranger even more trail-ready.

Talk Trucks With Barry at Arrow Ford

Here's another reason I like working with Arrow Ford: you've got actual truck people you can talk to.

Barry, the Fleet Manager at Arrow Ford Trucks, knows these things inside and out. Whether you're buying something for work, building out a fleet, or just trying to figure out which Ranger makes sense for what you actually do, Barry can help you cut through the noise.

Tell him 92.5 The Ranch sent you.

The Ranch Truck of the Month

The 2026 Ford Ranger XL isn't trying to be the biggest or fanciest truck in Texas.

It's just a dang useful pickup. Work, hunting, fishing, hauling gear, hitting the backroads, or cruising around West Texas- you get the capability of a truck without feeling like you're trying to park an aircraft carrier every time you pull into United.
