It's time for the 9th Annual 'Coats for Kids' drive. With your help, we can decrease the number of students that won't have a coat to wear during the coming winter months.

From Abilene to Eula to Anson and every school in between, there are homeless students in need; many of them unaccompanied. These kids already have enough going against them, the least we can do is help keep them warm this winter.

This year's coat drive will not only help homeless students in Abilene but other surrounding school districts as well. Please help by donating a gently used or a new coat. We need all sizes, from ages 3 to 18. Monetary donations will be used to purchase new coats, so please give generously.

While we are accepting donations of "gently used" coats, we'd like to ask you to consider a monetary donation or that of a new coat. This will limit any potential spread of Covid-19 and other viruses that make an appearance this time of year.

However, if a used coat is donated, we will make sure it is cleaned properly before giving it to a student in need. As a matter of fact, Lynn Ingram and Ingram Cleaners are our official drop-off location and cleaner of all donated coats and jackets.

When is the Coats for Kids drive?

This year's Coats for Kids drive is from October 24th-November 11th.

Where do I take my coat donations?

Please take all donations of coats and jackets to Ingram Cleaners at 1514 South Treadaway. They are open 7 am-6 pm, Monday thru Friday, and 9 am-6 pm on Saturdays.

What about monetary donations?

We are accepting monetary donations at our studios at 3911 South 1st Street in Abilene. You can drop off your donation between 10 am-3 pm Monday thru Friday. If you're paying with a check, please make out the check to Townsquare Media and put "Coats for Kids" in the memo line.

We're needing approximately 2,000 coats for the combined schools participating in the Coats for Kids drive. Please donate generously. These kids depend on it.

For more information, please send me an email and I'll respond as soon as possible.

We'd like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors as they have been absolutely incredible in helping us with Coats for Kids including Lynn Ingram at Ingram's Cleaners, Sheridan Cruz With EXP RealtyPam's Pets, Big Country Portable Buildings, Kim Austin at State Farm, Money Pit RC Hobbies, Duvall's Structures and My Mechanic of Abilene.

Finally, thank you all for your generous donations to Coats for Kids. You're all the real heroes.
