Chris Stapleton is the 2018 ACM Male Vocalist of the Year! He had some tough competition for this year's trophy: The category's other nominees were Jason AldeanThomas RhettKeith Urban and Chris Young.

Stapleton also took home the title of Male Vocalist of the Year back in 2016. Prior to tonight, he'd won six ACM Awards -- all in 2016 -- and this year, he was nominated for eight. His ACM nominations span just a handful of years, but they rack up to 19 wins total over the course of his career. However, he wasn't in Las Vegas to accept the award himself, due to the fact that his wife, Morgane Stapleton, was due to give birth shortly after April 15, the day of the ACMs.

Skipping the festivities turned out to be a smart move: the ACM Awards host, Reba McEntire, announced onstage that the country singer's twin boys had arrived before their due date! "Those little rascals arrived early," McEntire joked on Sunday evening. The evening was a big night for Stapleton overall: along with taking home the title for Male Vocalist of the Year, he also won Album of the Year...oh, and celebrated his 40th birthday.

Stapleton's had his hands full with new music, releasing two records in 2017: From A Room: Volume 1 and From A Room: Volume 2. He's looking forward to his upcoming 2018 All-American Road Show Tour, which kicks off in June and is an extension of his 2017 trek.
