Lester Flatt

Silverstein was known for his whimsical and twisted children's poetry, but he also was a prolific songwriter, especially for country artists.

Country music had a big role in television in the 1960s, thanks in part to these standout moments.

To this day, the song lives on.

On March 11, 1969, Flatt and Scruggs ended their musical partnership, which spanned more than 25 years.
