Nashville-based singer-songwriter Steve Moakler is officially a daddy! The musician posted his happy news on Instagram Saturday night (Jan. 5), announcing the debut of his first child, a son, and revealing the little guy's name.

"Dear World, I’d like to introduce you to our son, Jackson Thomas Moakler," the proud papa captioned a first family shot on Instagram. "His buddies call him Jack...Words cannot describe how blown away we are to be his parents!! He and his momma are happy and healthy, and his Dad is over the moon. Praising the Lord."

Moakler and wife Gracie first shared their pregnancy news with fans in July. "Well team … it looks like we’ve got a 3rd passenger coming on the road this year," he captioned a photo of the couple. "It’s gonna be bumpin’ #DadJokes."

The pair didn't reveal their due date at the time, but it's hard to think of a better way to usher in the first week of 2019.

Moakler released his album Born Ready in 2018. The title track was originally commissioned by a trucking company, so he wrote it with a trucker's life in mind, but eventually found it taking on elements of his own life. Co-written with Luke Laird, the song's personal inspiration came from Moakler's grandfather, who ran a fleet of Mack Trucks.

"It started as, 'I’m gonna write a song for them,' and quickly became ‘Hey, there’s a lot of me in this song, too,'" he tells Taste of Country.
