Winter Storm Now Grounding Massive Number Of Texas Flights

Texas is already crippled due to the second round of Polar Vortex weather, and now hundreds of flights have been grounded at multiple airports because Winter Storm Enzo is threatening to create such major travel headaches, several cities are trying to avoid entirely.

Thankfully, my family has no plans to jump on a plane in the next 24 hours, and we pretty much spent the weekend nesting and perfecting our favorite crockpot and soup recipes. However, there are thousands of people that planned on traveling through several Texas airports, and estimates are the inconvenience in Houston alone could impact well over 100,000.

Winter Storm Now Grounding Massive Number Of Texas Flights

According to this KHOU article, a winter storm warning has been issued for most of Southeast Texas to begin at 6 PM tonight, and run through the same time on Tuesday. Right now, the expected snowfall and/or wintry precipitation mix is expected to be in the 4-8 inch range regionally, and 3-5 inches of snow is anticipated for Houston alone, so Hobby Airport and Bush Airport are both closed for Tuesday.

Even if your nearest airport does not plan to close, there is a good chance schools will because several have already announced closures for Tuesday. As far as my family goes, we are ready to spend the day together sampling soups and stews, and extend this long three day Martin Luther King Jr. holiday into a 4 day weekend.
