New Data Reveals The Most Misspelled Word in Texas

Are you good at spelling common words? With the Scripps National Spelling Bee underway in the United States, spelling is under the microscope right now.

The folks at WordUnscrambler.pro took a look a data throughout the United States to see which words were the most common misspelled words according to Google Data. According to FOX, some of the most misspelled words included words with silent letters or they words contained double letters.

The Most Common Misspelled Word In Texas Is...

In order to figure out which word Texans struggle to spell correctly, WordUnscrambler.pro took a look at Google Trends data from the first of January through May 19. Search prompts were also analyzed. For example, "How do you spell...". They poured through the data and found that Texas, was different from most states (of course) when it came to our most misspelled word.

So what word to Texans struggle spelling? Surprisingly the most misspelled word in Texas is... "Protect".

What is it about the word "protect" that causes so many issues for Texans? Who knows really.

The Most Common Misspelled Words in America

It's not just Texans that struggle with spelling of course. In Arizona the word "people" was the most misspelled word. In New York, they can't spell "different".

According to FOX, the five most misspelled words in America are:

Definitely, Separate, Necessary, Believe, and Through.

You can view the top ten list on FOX. The word that surprised me the most? Restaurant. It made the top ten list, but not as high as I would have thought.
