Those of us here in East Texas keep patiently waiting on the news that Buc-ee's will be opening up somewhere along I-20 so that we can hit it up more frequently to enjoy the BBQ sandwiches, Beaver Nuggets, turkey sandwiches, and a half-gallon of our favorite soft drink!

Plus, shop around in the retail store and buy up all the specialized Buc-ee's t-shirts.

Buc-ee's continues to expand across the nation

It's always big news when Buc-ee's expands. Whether good or bad, the expansion makes the news. One of the newest announced locations is the first-ever Buc-ee's in Arkansas. The groundbreaking event was held last Thursday (April 17th) in Benton, Arkansas.

When it comes to a new Buc-ee's location, there's always competition

These massive stores keep growing in size. As soon as there's a new title for the World's Largest Buc-ee's, the announcement is made that another much larger one is going to open up!

The first Texas-sized convenience store will be opening in the Razorback state in Central Arkansas. This location will have a 75,000 square foot retail/convenience store, house 120 gas pumps, and be home to 200+ employees. According to a quote from MySA from Arkansas Governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders,

This new Buc-ee's location is forecasted for 5 million visitors per year -- nearly twice the population of Arkansas. Buc-ee's estimates that more than half of those visitors will come from out of state, signaling a huge win for Arkansas' growing tourism industry.

So while they break ground in Arkansas, East Texans will continue to wait patiently for one of the biggest convenience stores in the world to come to the Piney Woods.

Oh, by the way, the title holder for the largest Buc-ee's in the entire chain is now back here in Texas. The record holder had been the location in Sevierville, TN, until June of 2024, when the Luling, Texas location brought the title back to the Lone Star State.
