You Can Only Get These Exclusive Items at Texas Dairy Queens
Dairy Queen is not a Texas brand, but for some reason our restaurants are different than the rest of the country.
Keep Scrolling to Check Out the Items You Can Only Get in Texas
We have all heard the Dairy Queen commercials growing up. "DQ, that's what I like about Texas!" Dairy Queen actually started in Joliet, Illinois back in 1940. So why does it feel like Dairy Queen is a Texas thing? Turns out we get exclusive items thanks to a franchise owner back in the day. He made a deal that allowed him to put new items on the menu, but they never went nationwide. Even with all the corporate deals made nowadays. Texas still has the rights to special items at Dairy Queen.
Hungr-Buster (A quarter-pounder with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and mustard)
Belt-Buster (A burger that doubles up on the quarter-pound patties)
Triple Buster (Triples the patties)
Dude Chik’n Fried Steak Sandwich (Fried steak with lettuce, tomatoes and salad dressing)
Steak Finger Country Basket (Crunchy fried steak strips)
Texas T-Brand Tacos (Three tacos packed with beef, shredded cheese, crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes, and served with DQ® taco sauce on the side)
Nachos Deluxe (Large platter of crisp fresh tortilla chips covered with seasoned beef, refried beans, nacho cheese sauce, crisp lettuce, diced ripe tomatoes, and cheddar cheese, and served with DQ® picante sauce on the side.)
Beef Taco Salad (Crispy tortilla bowl filled with seasoned beef, shredded cheddar cheese, crisp shredded lettuce, and diced ripe tomatoes, topped with sour cream, and served with DQ® picante sauce on the side.)
Grilled Chicken Taco Salad (Crispy tortilla bowl filled with sliced grilled chicken breast, shredded cheddar cheese, crisp shredded lettuce, and diced ripe tomatoes, topped with sour cream, and served with DQ® picante sauce on the side)
Chocolate Soft Serve?
This one is tricky because only certain Texas Dairy Queens actually have it. Most folks that want a chocolate cone, just get the dipped chocolate on top of a vanilla cone. According to Click2Houston, they found at least five that have it in Texas. I will warn you, they're all in South or Central Texas so plan a road trip if you want to try one.
