A recent study revealed the least healthy city in Texas.

Living a healthy lifestyle can be tough these days. If you’re like me, you find yourself tempted to pull into a fast-food drive-thru and get something quick, cheap, and greasy rather than going for healthier options.

I’m also a drinker. There’s nothing better than a drink after a long day at work. But admittedly, I sometimes imbibe a little too much. Not only does it hurt like hell the next day, but it’s bad for my long-term health.

Fortunately, I was never tempted to smoke cigarettes, so I have that going for me. I know people who smoke and have struggled to quit time and time again with no success.

And while I try to stay active, I don’t exercise nearly as much as I should. I’ll get into the habit and frequent the gym for several months, but I’ll eventually fall off and quit going.

So, far be it from me to preach or judge anyone for being unhealthy.

I’m merely here to report the findings of a study conducted by researchers at Forbes Advisor. Researchers compared the 46 most populated cities in the United States to determine the least (and most) healthy among them.

Unfortunately, many of the largest cities in the Lone Star State didn’t fare too well.

Houston was found to be the least healthy city in the state, ranked as the 12th least healthy city in the nation. Obesity is a big problem in Space City with 37.7% of adults reporting they have obesity.

San Antonio and Dallas were also ranked among the 20 least healthy cities in the country. Both cities have a large percentage of the population with diabetes.

The study's results weren’t all bad for Texas cities, though. Austin was ranked the second healthiest city in the country, and Arlington was ranked among the 20 healthiest cities.
