Who Has the Biggest Cowboy Hat in the Country Then?
The City of Garland says they want to be known as the 'cowboy hat capital of Texas.' Well Garland, what's the other phrase about Texas? Everything is bigger here, right? Then why on Earth did you guys not go for the record Cowboy hat in America? I was curious as to why they're saying biggest in Texas. Turns out one in Seattle that have one that is TWICE as big as this one.
Since 1954, Seattle Has the Rights to the Biggest Cowboy Hat
Come on Garland, you're letting Seattle kick your ass? According to the City of Garland, their cowboy hat is 20 feet long. Meanwhile this one in Seattle is 44 feet long, more than double our new one in Texas.
Fun Fact, You May Have Seen This Cowboy Hat in a Famous Movie
In the classic National Lampoon's Vacation opening, at about the 1:15 mark you can see the cowboy hat in it's original location when it was a part of gas station in Seattle. After the gas station shut down, the city moved the iconic hat to Oxbow Park in 2003.
