I think it fair to say that most of us indulge in a little "junk" food now and then, from fried foods to sugary treats.

Honestly, I don't love referring to any food as "bad" because they all give us the energy we need to survive, and hopefully there's some nutritional value there too.

However, many foods contain chemical colors, preservatives, and food modifiers that could be potentially hazardous to our health. And they are certainly not adding to the nutritional value of those items.

Recently, California banned four of these chemicals and nearly banned a fifth one. Just this month, the FDA banned one of these ingredients as well, however, companies have a year to comply with the ruling, meaning you could still buy products with this now-banned ingredient.
