Giving Blood Is Easier Than Ever In Lubbock With Sunday Hours
Are you donor curious? Well, there might be more opportunities to give than you think.
Giving blood has given me a real sense of pride. It costs nothing but a little time, and honestly, that time feels like a break. You sit down, relax for a bit, and when you're done—boom—cookies, snacks, and drinks. Not a bad deal for doing something that can literally save a life.
If my math is right, I’ve hit about eight gallons donated through Vitalant (formerly United Blood Services) in Lubbock. And that’s just since they lifted the old tattoo restrictions—I gave even before that. But this isn’t about bragging. It’s about showing you that I’ve done this over 60 times with zero problems. Blood donation is safe, simple, and yes… still comes with cookies.
🕒 More Chances Than You Think
Even with all those visits, I had no idea our local blood center is now open every other Sunday. It’s one of those quiet schedule changes they don’t shout about—but it makes a huge difference. A little visit on a Sunday can be way easier to fit into your life than a packed weekday.
If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign. Book an appointment, scroll the schedule, and you’ll likely see upcoming Sunday slots and even special pop-up drives happening nearby.
💪 Step Up—We’re Needed
And let me throw out a friendly challenge—especially to the big, rough, tough guys out there.
It can sometimes be tougher for women to donate due to iron levels and other factors. That means we’ve got to step up and carry a bigger part of the load. This is something we can take pride in as a community. Something real. Something that helps people in ways we’ll never fully see—but that absolutely matter.
