(KNUE-FM) It’s so easy for us all to say that these kids running around Texas now have it so easy, although life has become more challenging for parents so it’s difficult to always keep an eye on your children. Although, back in the day our parents didn’t have to watch us all the time because we knew there would be serious consequences if we acted unruly and our parents found out about our bad behavior.

Back in the Day All it Took Was a Look...

I grew up the youngest of five kids, we were all crazy and mostly full of sugar and bad decisions. But that meant our parents were working constantly just to keep food in the refrigerator and clothes on our backs. But we always knew, even if they weren’t around, that if we did something bad there would be repercussions, and my parents always got creative.

Creative Punishments My Parents Used Back in the Day

When we were really young and got into a fight with our siblings, my parents would think up the worst punishments possible. On multiple occasions the siblings fighting would have to stand at the end of the driveway hugging the sibling they were fighting with telling them how much they loved them as neighbors would drive by. It was embarrassing but worked every time.

As we got older my parents adapted with the times, if chores weren’t done, the wifi password would be changed. No one would know the new password until the chores were completed.
