Heat stroke is DEADLY and can happen quickly.

KNOW THE SIGNS of heat stroke, because every second will count!

Heat stroke symptoms include, body temp of 103°F+, hot, dry skin (no sweat), fast pulse, sudden dizziness or fainting, nausea or confusion and loss of consciousness.

Here is what to do if you experience ANY of these symptoms immediately; Move to shade or AC, sip cool water slowly, loosen clothing and use cool cloths or fans to cool off.

If nothing is working to cool you off, call 911 immediately!

One of the best ways to prevent heat stroke is to stay out of the sun during peak hours in Texas if you can. For South Texas the peak hours are from 10am to 4pm.

The number one way to prevent heat stroke is to STAY HYDRATED!

Staying hydrated is crucial for preventing heat stroke because it allows your body to sweat effectively, which is the primary mechanism for cooling down in hot weather. When you're dehydrated, your body struggles to regulate its temperature, greatly increasing your chances of getting heat stroke.
