DQ’s ‘Spoons for Smiles’ Brings Hope to Texas Kids, Here’s How You Can Help

Texas Dairy Queen restaurants are back with a sweet way to make a big difference – Spoons for Smiles! On Saturday, October 19, every Blizzard® Treat you buy at participating DQ locations will help raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. For every Blizzard sold, $1 will be donated by the Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council to support local children’s hospitals – with a goal of up to $50,000.

This isn’t just another fundraiser; it’s a community-driven event to spread joy and hope to Texas children who need it most. “Spoons for Smiles is more than just an event—it’s a way to make a lasting impact on the lives of Texas children,” said Lou Romanus, CEO of the Texas Dairy Queen Operators' Council. “By supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we’re helping to ensure that kids across Texas receive the care they need. It’s an honor to be part of a community effort that brings joy and hope to so many families.”

How to Participate

Simply, order any Blizzard Treat at your local DQ, including favorites like the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard and new flavors like the Caramel Java Chip Blizzard. Your purchase will treat your taste buds and bring life-saving care to kids in need across Texas.

Participating hospitals, like Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, rely on these donations to provide specialized care for children like Nolan, a young boy from San Antonio who bravely fought retinoblastoma. After surgery to remove his left eye and replace it with a prosthetic—his "superhero eye," Nolan now inspires others with his courage.
