The Big Country Welcomes Texas Gun & Knife Show August 17 & 18

The Texas Gun and Knife Show is returning to the Abilene Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, August 17th and 18th. This event will feature a diverse array of vendors offering firearms, ammunition, concealed carry purses, jewelry, coins, and much more. With the number of women purchasing guns rising from 21% last year to 42% this year, the show promises to cater to a wide audience.

Over the past 24 months, Texans have set records in firearm purchases, and gun ownership continues to surge across the state. As hunting season approaches, gun dealers in Texas are anticipating strong sales for the rest of 2024. Additionally, the current election year has sparked discussions about potential taxes on firearms and ammunition, prompting Texans to stock up on essential supplies.

The Texas Gun and Knife Show will showcase a variety of dealers, ensuring attendees find what they need. This year's event exudes a positive vibe toward gun ownership, with an optimistic outlook for the economy and more accessible prices on firearms like ARs.

According to World Population Review, Texas leads the nation in registered firearms per capita. Last year, the state had just over 588,696 registered firearms, a number that has risen to 830,109 this year. On average, Texas has 29 guns for every thousand residents.

Janis Hill, the show's promoter, stated, "We are almost sold out, and if you are a vendor wanting to set up, contact me immediately." Hill noted an increase in vendors offering concealed carry purses, clothing, jewelry, firearms, ammo, and accessories. At recent shows, a notable number of women were seen shopping for guns and related items.
