Abilene Idol Auditions Are Back for 2023 at the Mall of Abilene

It's that time again, time for the Abilene Idol 2023 Auditions and the biggest fundraiser for Chorus Abilene. The best part is that this year there will still be a "Duo Category" in the Abilene Idol competition.

Chorus Abilene is hosting its biggest event of the year. This is a local take on the super popular television show, American Idol. Only when you compete in Abilene, you are competing against contestants from all around the Big Country. Plus you'll get to perform alongside and in front of, all your neighbors, family and friends.

All contestants ages 16 and up will compete in the adult category, singers ages 6 to 15 years old are competing in their own junior category, and back again this year the Abilene Idol duo category will be in the competition as well.

The goal is ten soloists in the adult open category and five duos in both the adult and junior categories that will be judged by three judges, including the Abilene Idol 2022 winner.

Chorus Abilene Director Abigail Sanders said  "There will be a Facebook live announcement of the finalists chosen immediately following the judges’ deliberation at the end of auditions on Saturday, January 21st. The Abilene Idol Finale show will be Saturday, February 24th, 2023 at the Abilene Convention Center."

To register to compete in this year's Abilene Idol, simply sign up online at the Chorus Abilene Website. Walk-up auditions are welcomed. However, preregistration guarantees an audition time. For more information contact abigail@chorusabilene.org.
