Derek Jeter is just as smooth with words as he was chasing down a ball in the hole.

The future Hall of Famer had his number 2 jersey retired by the Yankees in a ceremony Sunday evening and gave a stirring, heartfelt speech in front of a fired-up Yankee Stadium crowd, which included many former teammates. Number 2 is definitely number in their hearts.

The five-time World Series champion, who was the linchpin for those great late '90s and early 2000s Yankees teams, nailed his speech, which is even more impressive when you consider he had no notes.

Is there nothing this guy can't do? It makes you wonder how off the charts his speech will be when he's inducted into Cooperstown in a few years.
